March to May: feed the lawn and the palms
Broward County restricts nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer on lawns from June 1 through September 30 and keeps it ten feet back from any lake or canal, so the feeding that carries a lawn through summer has to go down before June. Palms get their own 8-2-12 with magnesium in the same window.
Rainy season: watch the edges and the water
Chinch bugs along hot sidewalks from June, sod webworm by August, and take-all root rot in lawns that stay saturated. We treat pests and disease and hold nitrogen by ordinance.
October to January: dry-season hardening
Potassium in October, large patch prevention in November, and a reset of controller run times as the rains stop. Most winter browning in Pembroke Pines is an irrigation setting, not a lawn problem.
