Glade Palm Lawn Care — Hollywood's Trusted Weed Control & Fertilization Team

Local turf care

Hollywood's Trusted Weed Control & Fertilization Team

Hollywood runs from beach to Everglades edge, and its lawns change block by block. The Lakes section carries 1920s and 1930s homes on lake-front lots with mature trees and a salt breeze. Emerald Hills is 1970s golf-community turf on bigger lots west of I-95. Hillcrest mixes townhomes and newer construction where sod is young and soil is thin.

Our route through Hollywood is treatment-only: fertilization, weed control, pest and disease management and palm nutrition. That means a weekly-mowing HOA standard is your mower's job and keeping the turf dense enough to earn it is ours.

What Hollywood Lawns Are Up Against

Lake-front lawns and fertilizer buffers

The Lakes and Emerald Hills sit on water. Broward's ten-foot no-fertilizer buffer along lakes and canals applies, so we use slow-release blends and deflector spreading to feed the lawn without feeding the algae.

Old trees, thin turf

Hollywood Lakes' canopy has had a century to grow. Under it, Floratam thins and dollarweed moves in wherever irrigation overshoots. Shade cultivars, cut height and a lighter watering schedule matter more than product.

New sod on new fill

Hillcrest's newer homes sit on construction fill with little organic matter. Young sod there needs frequent light feeding, root-zone soil testing and patience with irrigation until roots reach depth.

Whitefly on the hedges

Ficus hedges across Hollywood carry ficus whitefly and rugose spiraling whitefly. A systemic treatment in spring protects the hedge, the palms behind it and the black sooty mold from landing on your lawn furniture.

Timing matters

Getting the Timing Right in Hollywood

Late winter: pre-emergent and pH

Pre-emergent goes down by mid-February. It's also when we pull soil samples — Hollywood's coastal ridge soils run alkaline, and the spring feeding program is set from the results.

Spring: the main feeding window

Broward County restricts nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer on lawns from June 1 through September 30 and keeps it ten feet back from any lake or canal, so the feeding that carries a lawn through summer has to go down before June.

Summer: pest scouting every visit

Chinch bugs on sunny edges from June, tropical sod webworm from August. Rain drives gray leaf spot on St. Augustine. Summer visits are about catching these early, not feeding.

Fall and winter: potassium and fungus watch

A potassium-forward application in October hardens turf for the dry season; November brings the first large patch risk when nights cool and irrigation keeps blades wet.

“Their customer service is awesome. They communicate and explain everything in detail and going step-by-step. They’ve saved our lawn. We were at a point where we thought we were going to have to replace all our grass — not anymore. Thank you guys. I appreciate the work.”

Frequently asked questions

Hollywood Weed Control & Fertilization FAQs

Which Hollywood neighborhoods do you cover?

All of them — the Lakes, Emerald Hills, Hillcrest, North Central, the beach side and west to I-75. Request a free quote and we'll confirm your route day.

When can you fertilize a Hollywood lawn?

Outside Broward's June-to-September rainy-season restriction. We front-load slow-release nitrogen in spring and use potassium and micronutrients in the fall, which is also better for St. Augustine than summer feeding.

My HOA flags weeds — how fast do you fix it?

Broadleaf weeds like dollarweed and pusley show results in one to two weeks after a targeted application; sedges take a specific product and a second pass. Dense, well-fed turf is the long-term answer.
